Immediate care for dental emergencies including pain infections , broken teeth and urgent restorations.

Tooth Pain

Toothache can be caused by a wide range of issues, including tooth decay, gum disease, dental infections and broken teeth. We’ll diagnose the cause of your problem and then address the pain before arranging follow-up treatment to help tackle the root cause of your toothache.

Chipped tooth/Broken filling

If you chip or break a tooth, it can be very painful, especially if the pulp is exposed. Don’t ignore this common issue—visit our dental team as soon as possible to get the right treatment. If you can save the broken tooth fragment, we may be able to reattach it. Learn more about what to do if you chip/break a tooth.

Lost filling

Lost fillings expose the most sensitive parts of the tooth, which can lead to pain, discomfort, and an increased risk of infection. If you’ve lost a filling, book an appointment with our emergency dental team in Leeds so we can help to put things right.

Knocked out tooth

A knocked-out tooth is a severe dental emergency that requires immediate attention. Handle the tooth carefully, try to reinsert it into the socket if possible, and see a dentist right away. You can also store the tooth in milk to keep it safe while you wait for an appointment.

Swelling/abscess

Swelling of the gums, cheek or jaw indicates there is an infection such as an abscess. This is often accompanied by severe pain that comes on suddenly. This is a serious dental emergency that needs to be addressed as quickly as possible to help prevent the infection from spreading.

Lost crown or veneer

Crowns are commonly used to protect vulnerable teeth, so if they come loose or fall out, your tooth could be at risk. Try to save the crown if possible and we can reattach it. Otherwise, we will protect the tooth in the meantime while we wait for a replacement crown to be fitted.

Infection

Dental infections, whether in the tooth or gums, can cause significant pain and swelling. With a dental infection, the pain often comes on suddenly, and may subside if you are able to ignore it for long enough. However, we don’t recommend ignoring the pain as this is a sign that the infection is only going to get worse and the pain will return eventually.

Gum pain

Painful gums are a sign of gum disease or infection, among other issues. You might also have an abscess on your tooth. Regular dental check-ups can help prevent or address gum-related problems. See a dentist as soon as possible if you’re experiencing pain that stops you from sleeping or cannot be controlled with painkillers like paracetamol.

Broken denture

Broken dentures are considered a dental emergency, as this could impact your ability to eat and speak. Don’t suffer in silence with a broken denture – seeking a prompt repair or replacement from an emergency dentist will help you to get back to normal. We can also assist with lost dentures.
